
About the Convention
South-South cooperation has been a source of dynamic an innovative solutions, enabling developing nations to tackle both immediate and long term challenges effectively.
The world’s 92 most vulnerable countries – LDCs, LLDCs and SIDs – are experiencing the worst impacts of interconnected development crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, global economic slowdown, escalating debt, climate emergency, among others.
There is an opportunity to address both immediate and long-term needs to support countries to get back on track towards achieving the SDGs by leveraging South-South and triangular cooperation.
The inaugural Annual Convention on South South & Triangular Cooperation (ACSSTC) will convene policy makers, development partners, financial institutions & eminent business leaders to discuss implementation strategies and share knowledge on to accelerate
- Creation of appropriate mechanisms to mobilize resource.
- Reciprocal knowledge sharing and technical assistance.
- Development of platforms to increase policy dialogue and build capacities.
- Stakeholder engagement with the private sector, civil society & research institutions.
This year, the inaugural Annual Convention on South-South & Triangular Cooperation (ACSSTC) is being held in collaboration with UN agencies including UNDP, The Rome-Based Agencies (RBAs) and others.
